A question about Sabian symbols. I thought you are supposed to round up when reading them, even if, like this new moon, the minutes are 00. So that would make the Sabian symbol for this new moon 10 degrees instead of 9. I've searched for clarification and this is the best I could find.
On 2 other sites, it says 9 degrees and 00 seconds that it is 9 degrees (James Burges and Cafe Astrology. I used the calculator on James Burgess' site with the time of the eclipse and both the sun and moon was 9 degrees- A Crystal Gazer.)
Unlike astrology, Sabian symbols are are exactly that- symbolic. They go back a hundred years and 360 of them were done in a day. I am not anywhere near an expert on them, but I didn't use them to determine the eclipse, but just as an offer of what the eclipse could symbolize.
It seems like there are a couple of different determinations in regards to the seconds- kind of like different house systems. I felt A Crystal Gazer worked well but I by no means suggest that anyone should go with what I used. If you are more comfortable using Aries 10, then by all means, go for it.
Gotcha! Just thought I’d put it out there. My understanding is that they were channeled, so definitely symbolic as you say. How to read them has never been clear to me. Thanks for letting me know how you did them.

As for my chart, with Scorpio rising, an opportunity to earn a little extra income would be right on time!
