The summer months are often polarizing. On one hand, everything slows down; children are out of school, we vacation, socialize, and engage in recreation. However, with the heat, it is easier to lose our temper and get frustrated over mundane events. Some summer seasons are quiet and seem to flow like a lazy river, gently guiding us towards relaxation. Other summers, though still marked by holidays, are compounded with disruptions, disputes, and unexpected events. July 2024 falls into the latter category.
The most profound aspect this summer is the conjunction of Mars and Uranus in Taurus. As July begins, Mars will be at 16 degrees in Taurus and will traverse through the sign before ingressing into Gemini on July 20th, 2024. Uranus, moving more slowly, will be at 25 degrees and will progress only to 26 degrees. This means that for the first three weeks of July, we will feel the impacts of the Mars-Uranus conjunction, peaking on the morning of July 15th.
Astrological chart showing the Uranus-Mars conjunction in Taurus on July 15th, 2024, at 8:51 AM in Dallas, TX.
When Uranus entered Taurus in March 2019, we witnessed unusual behaviors or shocking revelations from some of the biggest celebrities, such as the details of Britney Spears' conservatorship. However, Uranus' most prominent displays are in the geopolitical realm. There are historical periods where Uranus in Taurus has brought societal changes and upheavals. For instance, during the previous Uranus in Taurus cycle from 1934 to 1942, the world experienced significant financial restructuring and geopolitical shifts, such as the New Deal in the United States and the beginnings of World War II. Since May 28th, 2023, another layer has been unveiled, revealing that the foundations of our idols or leaders may not be as stable as we thought, or worse, may have a nefarious objective.
Uranus has exposed the autocracy of our government. We've come to realize that a small few can significantly impact our rules. We've witnessed the hypocrisy of our highest court working for billionaires, enjoying luxury vacations, real estate ventures, money, and other Taurian themes. With Neptune retrograding on the morning of July 2nd, and Pluto and Saturn currently in retrograde, expect more layers to be peeled back, revealing the tainted core of what we hold dear. My delay in writing this article gives me pause regarding the Presidential Immunity case.
This situation is reminiscent of previous contentious Supreme Court rulings that have had profound political implications. For example, in the United States v. Nixon case in 1974, Uranus was in Libra, the sign of law and justice, and was sextile to Mars in Leo. This alignment damaged Nixon's reputation and caused a wound on the populace, reflected in Uranus' opposition to Chiron. The incident shattered citizens' ideal of the presidency. Similarly, in the Clinton v. Jones case in 1997, Uranus was in Aquarius, the sign of the masses, which makes sense that power would favor the plaintiff in this situation. These precedents set important benchmarks for presidential accountability.
The Supreme Court has extended its 2024 session into July, which means a ruling could occur on or after July 2nd. Regardless, I predict that this ruling will be a mixed bag—the court will broadly differentiate between personal actions and presidential actions but will not rule on whether the former president has immunity. Instead, they will punt this case back to the lower courts, angering both sides of the political spectrum.
Continuing with the Mars-Uranus conjunction, it’s important to recognize that public figures often rely on the support of large corporations. This conjunction suggests we might hear of significant financial and value-based scandals throughout July. Historically, similar alignments have coincided with financial upheavals and scandals. For instance, the Enron scandal in the early 2000s, which led to one of the largest bankruptcies in U.S. history, occurred under significant planetary tensions. During this period, Uranus was in Aquarius and trine to Saturn in Gemini, which was in retrograde. This alignment exposed the false financial statements made by Enron's leaders. Given the Mars-Uranus conjunction's disruptive nature, we can anticipate revelations that could shake public confidence in major institutions. Mars signifies swift action, so expect some of our establishments to crumble, or at least for our respect for them to disintegrate. With the peak of this conjunction occurring on July 15th, the start of the Republican National Convention, it wouldn’t be surprising to see some form of violence or a shift in leadership. By the end of July, we may find ourselves reflecting on how the month did not unfold as expected.
Sometimes, the impact of a Mars-Uranus conjunction isn’t immediate. There is a “shake-up” or a revelation, and Mars triggers the actions, but the final results may occur days, weeks, months, or even years later. This is why I haven’t written about the Democratic National Convention yet, as the actions from this conjunction will reverberate forward. However, when I examined the charts last year, two names stood out: Kamala Harris and Gavin Newsom. As time has progressed, my intuition sees both of them as potential presidents—the former taking over the reins and the latter being elected. I will elaborate on this next month because currently, many moving pieces are in play. Suffice it to say, the DNC has more than Plan A figured out and is working on multiple “if/then” scenarios.
The Mars-Uranus conjunction will also impact the physicality of Earth. Taurus rules landscapes, and with the sudden, shocking nature of Uranus combined with the action-oriented Mars, we could see sinkholes, rock slides, and road collapses. These events will appear quickly on the surface but stem from underlying structural damage.
Shifting our focus from the Mars-Uranus conjunction, we cannot ignore Mercury's entrance into Leo on July 2nd, bringing a wave of vibrant energy. Mercury, the swift messenger, governs our thoughts and words, and in the regal sign of Leo, it can radiate charm, charisma, and joy. However, when Leo's energy is unrestrained, it may become flamboyant, boastful, and self-centered.
As the month begins, Mercury opposes Pluto, casting a shadow of persuasive rhetoric and propaganda. It will feel as if everyone is trying to sway your opinion—whether it's the best lip gloss to buy or cleverly repackaged AI-generated news. Periods of intense Mercury-Pluto aspects have been marked by significant propaganda efforts and information wars. For example, two months before the start of World War II, Mercury and Pluto were conjunct in Leo, igniting the propaganda machine that persisted throughout the war. This opposition highlights the importance of critical thinking and media literacy in navigating the influx of information. Neptune's retrograde, also starting on July 2nd, offers a moment to pause and delve deeper into the information presented to us. Coupled with Saturn's retrograde, this is a potent time for reassessing and scrutinizing the narratives we encounter. Use this period to sharpen your ability to detect AI's subtle influence and verify the authenticity of sources, empowering yourself with knowledge and discernment.
Remember, the whole of any situation is not on its surface. This does not mean there is a conspiracy. Since 2012, we have been under Neptune’s spell in Pisces, captivated by her dreamy, illusionary images. She is now giving you the opportunity to examine the structures supporting these illusions. We’ve known that money buys politicians, but whose money? Such revelations are what Neptune may expose if you are willing to do the Saturnian work of seeking valid, documented sources.
Venus will gently guide us where to look as she first trines Saturn in early July and then, in her last days in Cancer, forms a trine to Neptune. When Venus is in Cancer, the themes of the second and fourth houses are highlighted. We tend to use the second house energy of values and comfort and apply it to the fourth house energy of home and family. Venus in Cancer urges you to examine your spending, ensuring your financial decisions align with what you value most, especially in relation to your home and family. However, home can also mean your homeland, and you may reevaluate past alliances in regards to your values.
Then Venus ingresses into Leo on July 12th, opposing Pluto in Aquarius (and still trine to Neptune). This transit suggests that a woman, championing the masses, will emerge, or women as a group will make a significant impact on social change. It is also possible that a woman could take over the leadership of a country or political movement. I am intentionally vague because many moving pieces are happening, both domestically and abroad.
I envision the world right now as many rows of dominoes lined up, with a multitude of patterns and branches from the center. We know some of the dominoes will fall with the slightest tap. What we don’t know are the consequential damages or benefits when they start to fall. We are all holding our breath, waiting to see which one will fall first. That is the overarching theme. At the start of the month, those of us who tap into energy feel a prickly annoyance that what exists today will not be the same by month’s end.
Expect the most unexpected events to occur towards mid-month. For some, as things unfold and everything seems “bat-shit crazy,” it might be the release we all need to move forward. Many of us have been in circumstances where we wanted to leave or make a change but were paralyzed until something unexpected happened, enabling us to take the action we dreamed of. In hindsight, we realize that the incident was necessary and led us to a better path.
By month’s end, Mars will be in Gemini, beginning a conjunction with Jupiter. This conjunction feels like a scramble to get things done—swift, fast-moving, and expansive. With a square to retrograde Saturn in Pisces, there will be much reflection on what took place and how to prevent current actions from faltering. People will be thinking on their feet, and the world around you will be buzzing. This energy will carry us into August. What we do with this energy, for now, is anyone’s guess.
Ultimately, July 2024 challenges us to embrace change, remain resilient, and harness the dynamic energies at play to forge a path forward. The astrological alignments remind us that while the journey may be unpredictable, it is also an opportunity for profound personal and collective transformation.
The interconnectedness of events and their potential ripple effects, symbolized by dominoes and puzzle pieces.
