New Moon in Scorpio: Embracing Transformation and Renewal
Horoscopes for Each Rising Sign Under the New Moon
We often view new moons as the start of a cycle. But with every beginning, there is a kind of ending—a shedding of prior cycles as we contemplate the lessons we've gathered. Naturally, we want to look ahead, seeking what might best serve us. And while it’s exciting to dream about new ventures and possibilities, we can sometimes overlook the power within us to make things happen. We may long to take a passive approach, checking our charts and anticipating transits, expecting opportunities to simply appear in our lives. And while luck and magic certainly exist, sometimes we forget that we, too, are magicians. Scorpio energy understands this, embodying the willingness to look beyond the surprise and study the magic behind the scenes.
Lately, though, many of us have felt like we’re attempting a magic trick while blindfolded, hands tied behind our backs. Moving forward seems fraught with obstacles. We’re collectively feeling the weight of current transits, especially with Pluto’s enduring presence in Capricorn. As I’ve noted before, Pluto in Capricorn symbolizes the last gasp of the “old guard,” clinging tightly to power, unwilling to let go and making every attempt to secure its survival. Unlike Scorpio, which accepts that rebirth requires a willingness to release, Capricorn’s struggle with Pluto embodies a fallacy: if they can’t take it with them, no one else should have it either. But this mindset defies universal law.
On November 1st, aside from the New Moon, we’ll also experience a Pluto-Mercury sextile in Scorpio. While we’ve been hearing proclamations from those in power for some time, the words spoken now may carry an especially suspicious tone, prompting us to look beneath the surface. The positive side? On this day, it will be harder for anyone to mislead us. If power overreaches, it will be exposed. I suspect another revelation regarding a current or former leader could arise, offering us a new perspective during this New Moon.
This day carries a heavy tone, but it also brings a shift. Venus in Sagittarius opposes Jupiter in Gemini, and with Jupiter’s retrograde, we’re encouraged to re-examine excesses and redefine our values. Venus leads with optimism, charging forward. On this New Moon, you may feel a need to celebrate, especially if you recognize that much of the oppressive energy we’re sensing is an illusion. Today is an invitation to acknowledge our part in sustaining fear. We can reclaim our power, affirming that the present—and the future—are ours to shape. We are, after all, true magicians.
With Neptune in Pisces forming a grand trine with Mercury in Scorpio and Mars in Cancer, today calls for an examination of our dreams and the steps we’ve taken to realize them. If past efforts haven’t succeeded, now’s the time to analyze why. Often, it has more to do with our beliefs than with external factors. Recognizing this doesn’t downplay the challenges we’ve faced in recent years—to do so would be reckless—but it reminds us that we can take a different approach, especially if we work together. This grand water trine underscores our emotional interconnectedness, reminding us that while emotions may be downplayed in today’s society, they are, in fact, fuel.
To put it simply, November 1st symbolizes a shift that empowers the people. While Pluto remains in Capricorn for a few more weeks, this New Moon marks the beginning of the end—a chance to reclaim our magic. And part of that magic lies in our connection to one another. Any manifestation work on this day should focus on reclaiming your power, reflecting on what you’re releasing, and how you contribute to the collective.
