Rekindle Your Dreams Under the Sagittarius New Moon
How to Use Retrogrades to Reflect, Realign, and Manifest
When I walk my dog each night, I gaze upon the moon. Some nights, I marvel at its beauty and delve into the symbolism of the unknown. But honestly, most nights, I’m thinking, It’s not much longer before I need to write a Full Moon or New Moon article. The moon is my calendar, and its phases are my reminders.
New Moons, though hidden, take on the characteristics of the Sun sign they align with. The New Moon on November 30th in the fiery, optimistic sign of Sagittarius brings an opportunity to reset and realign. Sagittarius energy inspires us to aim high, explore truth, and seek freedom. But this New Moon isn’t a typical fresh start. With Mercury Retrograde in Sagittarius, Mars in its retrograde shadow in Leo, and a challenging T-square involving Saturn in Pisces, Jupiter in Gemini, and the New Moon, the sky invites us to slow down and reflect. Sagittarius loves to ponder life’s big questions, and this is the perfect time to do exactly that.
Rather than leaping into new ventures, this New Moon encourages a different approach: Revival Manifestation (and yes, I made up this phrase). Whether you call it rekindling intentions or simply reconnecting with past goals, this method is about breathing life into dreams or projects you left behind. It’s a tool for times when retrogrades and astrological tensions call for thoughtful reflection and preparation instead of bold action. And let’s face it: most of us have an ongoing list of unfinished or discarded projects. Or, this time could be more about your perceptions of the world and how your point of view has changed.
Why Revival Manifestation Works Now
Retrogrades of the inner planets—Mercury, Venus, and Mars—are not times to rush forward. They’re opportunities to slow down, reflect, and recalibrate. With Mercury retrograding in Sagittarius, we’re invited to revisit our beliefs, projects, and long-term goals. Mars in its retrograde shadow emphasizes patience and careful planning, while the T-square challenges us to manage the tension between idealism, practicality, and big-picture aspirations.
This is why starting small is essential. The New Moon forms a T-square with Saturn in Pisces and retrograde Jupiter in Gemini, creating a push-and-pull between expansive dreams (Jupiter), grounded discipline (Saturn), and the New Moon’s desire for forward motion. This tension highlights the need to:
Avoid overcommitting or making impulsive decisions.
Focus on realistic, manageable goals.
Build a foundation before taking significant action.
This New Moon’s T-square reminds us that while our dreams may be expansive, Saturn and Jupiter’s influence urge us to build slowly and deliberately. This tension is a reminder to lay strong foundations for long-term success. Coupled with retrogrades slowing down forward motion, what do you do in the interim? Embrace optimism and allow yourself to feel as though what you’ve been manifesting already exists. If you’ve been trying to manifest the same thing without results, it may be because you haven’t given it enough time or energy—or perhaps it doesn’t truly align with your beliefs. During this retrograde “downtime,” instead of doing nothing, immerse yourself in the energy of the things you’ve attempted to manifest in the past.
A Personal Story of Revival Manifestation
Back in 2013, I decided to move back to Florida from Nebraska. I had moved to Nebraska for work, and just weeks before relocating, I saw a man at a coffee shop who made me weak in the knees. By the time I decided to leave Nebraska, I was exhausted with my job, but I still wanted to stay with my company. My dream was to get a position in Orlando that aligned with my expertise and skill set while moving back to my old neighborhood.
There were many moving parts: interviewing for multiple positions, selling my condo, and finding a new place to live. I started the process in September, but by the end of October—when Mercury went into retrograde in Scorpio—I was starting to feel discouraged. I was often the runner-up for jobs, and everything seemed to go to the other candidates. From the outside, it looked like things weren’t going to fall into place.
Instead of giving up, I concentrated on feeling as though everything I wanted already existed. I would tell myself: I have the perfect job in Orlando. I discovered that the house I’d sold two years earlier was back on the market. And I saw the man from the coffee shop on a dating site, learning not only that he was single but that we had a lot in common.
A new moon occurred on my birthday, November 3rd, along with the mercury retrograde, just a few degrees away from the new moon. During October and November, I let myself feel the energy of having everything I wanted in every cell of my body. I took small actions, like packing my summer clothes into boxes and listing my condo for sale, even though I hadn’t secured employment yet. I had faith. I envisioned my dog running in the backyard of my old home and me driving to my Orlando office to see familiar faces.
In Nebraska, when I made the brutal three-block walk from the parking garage to the office in the freezing wind, I imagined it was the warm sun of Central Florida hitting my face. You could say I was actively deluding myself—but with complete faith that everything would work out. This unrelenting optimism during the retrograde was a continuation of the manifestation efforts I’d already set in motion.
After Mercury went direct, everything fell into place. I reached out to the man from the coffee shop, and we had an instant connection. My condo sold quickly. I made an offer on my prior home, and while driving from Nebraska to Florida with my dog (and the man from the coffee shop), I received an offer for my dream job.
Revive and Reignite: Where to Begin
The energy you continue to put into a prior manifestation will pay off. With this New Moon, don’t tackle a new dream—instead, revive something you’ve already set in motion. Do so with visualization, appropriate action, passion, and most importantly, belief. The cosmos rewards those who trust in divine timing.
Revival Manifestation is about reconnecting with goals or passions you’ve set aside. Take some time to reflect: What have you started in the past but left unfinished? Here are some ideas to inspire you:
An unfinished creative project, like a novel, artwork, or song.
A course of study you started but didn’t finish—perhaps a language, skill, or certification.
A hobby you once loved, like photography, gardening, or crafting.
A wellness routine or practice, such as yoga, journaling, or meditation, that helps you stay grounded.
A relationship or friendship that faded but could be renewed.
A spiritual exploration, such as astrology, Reiki, or tarot, that once sparked your curiosity.
An old business idea or side hustle that excited you but lost momentum.
Still Unsure? Look to Your Rising Sign
If you’re still unsure where to focus, astrology offers clues based on your rising sign. Astrology can provide more clarity. The New Moon falls in a specific house of your chart based on your rising sign, pointing to the life area where Revival Manifestation is most aligned. Whatever you choose from the past, ensure that it’s something you still feel passionate about. If you discarded an idea because it wasn’t right for you, there’s no need to revisit something misaligned.
Aries Rising (9th House): Revisit educational goals, travel plans, or spiritual pursuits. Dust off a book project or reignite a desire for adventure.

How to Rekindle Intentions
Revival Manifestation doesn’t require immediate action. Instead, it focuses on surrounding yourself with the energy of your goal to prepare for future progress. This New Moon cycle, combined with the retrogrades, is about harnessing energy and feeling excitement in your bones.
1. Immerse Yourself in Inspiration
Watch videos or listen to podcasts about your goal. For example, listen to author interviews if you’re revisiting a book project, or explore tutorials related to your hobby.
Let these resources play in the background to create an energetic connection.
During my time in Nebraska, I played The Secret on repeat as a reminder of how to visualize and feel gratitude for what I already had.
2. Reorganize Your Tools
Dust off your art supplies, camera, or notebook.
Set up a dedicated space for your revived project.
Moving items around—like when I boxed up clothes before everything fell into place—shifts the energy and creates a state of movement, even before the manifestation materializes.
3. Connect with Community
Join online forums, social media groups, or local meetups related to your interest.
Reconnect with mentors, friends, or collaborators who share your passion.
When I decided to move, I shared the news with my friends in Nebraska. One friend’s parents ended up buying my condo, making for a quick and seamless sale!
4. Start Small
Take symbolic steps, like outlining your project, rereading notes, or sketching ideas.
Focus on preparation and planning rather than immediate execution.
The message I sent to the man in Orlando was simple: I confidently shared my excitement about moving back, mentioned what we had in common, and asked about his favorite local spots. I imagined being there already, as if the miles between us didn’t exist.
What if I Don’t Have A Past Intention to Manifest?
Not everyone has something in progress. That’s okay! Use this New Moon energy to reflect on lessons you’ve learned. For example, as a Cancer Rising, my focus is on health with this New Moon. When I lived in Nebraska, I took a course on Plant-Based Nutrition. Although I’ve been vegan for over 13 years, I’ve indulged in vegan junk foods over the past decade. Earlier this year, I committed to transitioning to a whole-food, plant-based diet, and this New Moon encourages me to revisit old recipes, like my Lentil Shepherd’s Pie.
I’ve used the excuse of living alone to avoid making elaborate meals, but I can overcome that by inviting friends over for dinner or freezing leftovers.
The New Moon energy, combined with the retrogrades, offers a fresh perspective on the past. You might rediscover activities that align with your true self but got sidelined by life’s distractions. Simple, intentional acts—like cooking from scratch or taking a long walk—become celebrations of this lunar cycle’s energy.
Key Retrograde Energy Shifts
While this New Moon encourages you to rekindle past intentions, patience is key. Mercury will station direct on December 15th, providing clarity for mental pursuits and communication. However, with Mars not fully direct until February 23, 2025, it’s wise to wait until both retrograde periods have passed before taking bold, outward action.
This timeline offers two critical windows:
Mid-December 2024: When Mercury stations direct, you may gain clarity and renewed focus on your revived intentions. Use this time to solidify plans, research next steps, and organize your ideas.
Post-February 2025: Once Mars is fully direct, you’ll feel the momentum to take decisive action and pursue your goals with energy and confidence.
By managing your expectations and pacing your efforts, you align more harmoniously with the cosmic flow. Take this time to immerse yourself in the energy of your revived manifestations, and when the timing is right, you’ll be ready to move forward with clarity and purpose.
Experiencing Results
As Mercury stations direct on December 15th and Mars moves fully direct in February 2025, you’ll be ready to take bold action on your revived intentions. This period of reflection and slow progress allows you to build a solid foundation, ensuring you can act with clarity and confidence.
Sometimes, we sabotage ourselves by believing that because something didn’t work in the past, it never will. But this New Moon is about taking a calculated risk, steering forward while bringing the best parts of your past along for the ride.
I was fortunate not to get discouraged by the rejections and to instead double-down on my prior manifestation of moving from Omaha to Orlando. The Mercury retrograde occurred while I was in the middle of the process, along with a new moon. Instead of putting things on hold, I added more energy to the process- convincing myself that everything would go as planned. And guess what? It did. The job I finally landed was the best. I loved being a project manager and my boss was supportive. I fell in love with the man at the coffee shop and we spent three beautiful years together. And my dog and I were happy, living in the warmth of Central Florida, reconnecting with old friends and expanding my social circle.
My experience shows that even during retrogrades, putting energy into past intentions can yield surprising and beautiful results. Here’s how you can approach this New Moon with the same mindset. No matter where you are in your journey, this Sagittarius New Moon reminds us that with faith, optimism, and thoughtful action, even paused dreams can spring back to life. What intention will you rekindle this lunar cycle?

The advice and guidance you give in this piece will be so helpful to me moving forward. I definitely have some old projects that I can resuscitate (an eBook revision and a certification). Interestingly, I put down Invisible Supply (a little too prescriptive) and picked up Talk to Yourself like a Buddhist which is about how to let go of negative self talk, perfect for this retrograde in my second house.
Your personal story about how you moved through a similar period is extremely enlightening. I especially like how you used visualization and affirmations to stay focused on your desires already existing. I'm going to make a pdf of this piece and save it so I can refer back to it as I move through the months ahead.
